Community Lunch
This is where a number of service users and carers go out into the community to a pub / restaurant e.g. 'Harvester' and have lunch together. Obviously, on these occasions, the participants have to forgo lunch at the Day Centre, otherwise they would be too full to eat out. The session can last from an hour or so to several hours, depending on whether they are just eating, or both eating and doing another activity.

Observations on a service user who takes part in this activity (Dominic R)Dominic really enjoys the session entitled 'Community Lunch and Let's chat.' He is confident with what he wants to order to eat and drink and is confident in ordering for himself and others. Having enjoyed lunch out in a pub or restaurant Dominic and his colleagues spend time together with staff in a 'let's chat' session. This session is informal and intended to be fun whilst complementing the social interaction skills practised at lunch whilst in a community setting. Topics of conversation are introduced which are (hopefully!!) of interest to individuals in the group. With staff supporting, members of the group are encouraged to join in with conversation. Dominic is always very content to relax and enjoy the experience.

Some Lunch Locations- The Harvester down at Hayes
- Weatherspoons in Bromley (Jimmy (carer) normally goes here)
- Addington Village Inn (brilliant menus) - also used as the walk (service users either walk to this, or from this after lunch)
Most of these establishments are very good to our users, there are no distinctions made.
