DRAMA GROUP

Service users present: Alec, Jason, Chris B, Daniella, Lee.

Staff: Nicky, Claire & Claire

First we did warm up exercises, swapping chairs and saying good morning. We played various games where we would all copy what one member was saying or doing.

For the main activity, we played a game where someone would mime the action of taking something out of a box and doing a mystery activity, which the others would then try and guess. Next we played a game where a person would mime a specified activity such as climbing a rope, but when asked what they were doing would say they were doing something else, such as playing tennis - this was what the questioner then had to mime.

Participation by everyone in these games was good, and there were some amusing moments.

Staff quotes:-

"Its about encouraging people..."

"Our sessions are relaxed"

After the break, the group worked on a story, which was about a mother on a farm in 1947 and was quite dramatic. We acted out small scenes.

Then the group did relaxation, which involved sitting on bean-bags & stretching out, whilst listening to sounds of the sea.

Finally everyone formed a circle, joining hands and said goodbye.
