Places to go

By Chris B

Places to go include places of interest like Eastbourne, Brighton, Worthing, Hever Castle and Penshurst Place in Kent. Penshurst Place in Kent has a historical castle with a cafe where you can get tea, coffee, cream teas, biscuits, crisps, sandwhiches, cakes, hot food etc. and gardens where there is a lake.

I have been there with my sister Sarah W by marriage (nee Sarah B) and her husband Philip John W. Sarah's middle name is Elizabath. I took a photograph of Sarah and Philip by the lake for the historical places of interest category for our photographic competition on October 20th 2002.

This picture scored 29 points out of 30 in the intermediate judging and came first overall when voting for by Aunty Margaret, Dad, Mum, Sarah and Philip by placing buttons on it to decide first place, I did not vote for any of the others or my own because I was feeling unwell at the time and laid down on my bed upstairs.

At Eastbourne there is the Wish Tower cafe where I have been for a Christmas meal with my Grandma on December 9th. There is a pier and bandstand and on the pier I bought two postcards which I placed in my red folder next to my five trampolining badges.

Beachy Head is nearby Eastbourne and you can go for cliff walks. There is a roadside cafe where you can buy food and drink.

Worthing has a town centre and I went here a year ago with staff and clients from St Edwards House. There is a beach here and shops where you can buy gifts such as candles, spoons and toffees.
